Marni, an avatar of cool luxury fashion since 1994, has unveiled a glamorous boutique between Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s at NorthPark Center.
Its glimmering chrome and mirrored decor is ideal for showcasing Marni’s whimsical women’s and men’s collections.
Among this summer’s highlights are the slinky women’s capsule collection created in collaboration with Dallas-born R&B star Erykah Badu and the wildly printed men’s togs designed with streetwear brand No Vacancy Inn out of London and Los Angeles.
Marni x Erykah Badu, it must be noted, can be found only in Marni stores — not online.
Naturally, there are also plenty of accessories, including calf-hair and leather handbags and tongue-in-cheek adornments, like enamel hot dog earrings.

At the rear of the store, Marni’s bestselling shearling and calf-hair clogs are arrayed in vivid fuchsia, cobalt, and sea green, as well as black, chocolate, and tan.
All of this reflects the wit and wonder of creative director Francesco Risso, a Prada veteran who became creative director of Marni in 2016.

Risso has infused a wild and sometimes wacky edge to the Milanese house, which has long had a reputation for quirkiness under visionary founder Consuelo Castiglioni, who named the label for her sister.
The label has a cultish following among fashion insiders and others drawn to its confident idiosyncrasy, clever prints, and fabulous knitwear.
“I don’t like to call them clients,” Risso told Dazed. “They’re more like Marni lovers.”
Marni’s fall 2023 collections are awash in exuberant oversize geometric prints, plaids and polka dots rendered in extravagant suits and sweatshirts, cocoon coats, shifts, and fitted dresses.
The saturated palette is dominated by stop-sign red and daffodil yellow along with graphic black and white.
It will be equally eye-catching at chic events, restaurants, and posh parties in Dallas.
